Today we slowly start our journey back to the "East". We head east along the south coast of WA to Denmark. Once a timber town it is now a quaint holiday village trying hard to become trendy.
As we left Augusta we loaded up at the local bakery with goodies and fueled up the van. Today is the longest drive we've had for some weeks; 310km.
Our early morning drive through the fog bound Karri forest was spectacular.
The fog cleared and the full majesty of the Karri forest was on full display...
Jenelle needed a pano shot to fit this whole tree into the one frame...
The country side is lush...
Denmark sprawls along the edge of the Wilson Inlet...
The mouth of the inlet where it meets the ocean...
The pride of Denmark is on show throughout the town...
We found the local chocolatier.
Chocolates that were devine but pricey. Avocadoes from a roadside stall for $3.
The ocean coastline along the south coast continues to be spectacular.
The varied scenary provides many opportunities for "arty" shots...
The coastal scrub yielded several new flowers...
and a "Splendid" Fairywren encounter...
